Berkeley Hills Breakfast Bunch
Tuesday mornings are fun at Castallano's on Babcock Boulevard. Pastor Kevin arrives promptly at 6:30 a.m. and is followed by over twenty of his flock. Each arrive at different times until 8:30 a.m., when we go to our work place or to whatever the day has in store. We talk about everything from current events and church activities to the latest jokes and E-Mail quips. Most importantly we share fun, fellowship and an occasional tear when grief is felt. We find when we share our mornings, our days turn out to be more pleasant. Come join us and experience this special day in the lives of the Berkeley Hills Breakfast Bunch.
Women’s Bible Study
The Women’s Bible Study meets at the Church at 10:30 a.m. on the first and third Tuesday of each month, from September to May. We study, converse, plan for coming events and enjoy good Christian fellowship. Join us for study and for lunch afterward at a local restaurant.
Men’s Bible Study Group
The scriptures for the evening are read from the Serendipity Bible for Groups, which is written to stimulate discussion on many subjects. With that as a basis, the discourse ranges far and wide, touching on whatever insight or questions the men consider timely or important. We think you’ll find the hour both enjoyable and informative, and you may find there are others who share your concerns about living a Christian life. with - The topics are varied, and the sessions provide stimulating discussions that center around living a Christian life.
Outreach and Fellowship Circle
The Outreach and Fellowship Circle is a group of women meeting monthly from August until May. Meetings are usually held on the second Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. However, this sometimes changes so it’s best to check the current schedule found on the WELCA bulletin board in the church hallway, in the church newsletter or bulletin, or in the news section of this web site. Meetings explore a variety of topics and projects. Anyone is welcome to attend just one meeting because of an interest in a particular topic or attend regularly. The year’s schedule will be planned in August or September. Watch the news section of this web site for current topics.
3D’s (Discipleship, Discipline and Discussion)
The 3D’s (Discipleship, Discipline and Discussion) is a weekly study and support group, which meets on Wednesdays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Church lounge. The group explores subjects such as handling stress, values, and “freedom in Christ.” Please join us. Call Kathy Cleary at 412-486-8813 for more information.
Choir
The Choir is a dedicated group of men and women who enjoy praising God in song through a variety of musical styles and arrangements. Pam Scott is our excellent director. Please see the "Schedules Page" under "Events" for the currant rehearsal schedule. We take a break during the summer months when special music is provided for Church worship services. New voices are always welcomed into the choir.
Mothers and Others
The Mothers and Others is a group of women that enjoy Bible study along with fellowship, laughter and spiritual fulfillment. The group meets the first and third Wednesdays of the month from 9:30 a.m. to Noon. Meeting locations change. Please call the church office at 412-486-4010 to learn the location of the current meeting.
CEO's (Caring for Each Other)
The CEOs are a friendly group of folk who are thankful that they have made it to retirement age and want to give something back to their family of God. CEOs make themselves available to assist with monthly mailing and the Sunday Bulletin, to share their musical talents, to volunteer at Meals on Wheels, to help feed the homeless at the Pleasant Valley Shelter, to take food to the food bank, to participate in bereavement dinners. In addition, they support the VBS program and the yearly trips of the youth. Some come once a year for clean-up day. Some come just for the fellowship and bi-monthly lunch. Each meeting begins with prayer and devotions.
The group meets six times a year (every other month on the first Friday at Panera Bread on McKnight Road to discuss upcoming events.Announcements of meetings and activities are carried in The Window. For more information, contact Pat Makris 412-734-1442.
