Berkeley Hills reaches out to help others both directly and in partnership with various organizations. Many of our members also give freely of their time as volunteers and leaders in the local community.
Meals on Wheels
In partnership with Lutheran Affiliated Services, we provide meals five days a week to the elderly in our local community.
Community Involvement
We support the food bank at St. Michael's and All Angels Church on the Northside. Through Thrivent we help the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank. Lenten Denial offerings are donated to social concerns. Last year this offering was donated to the Saint Afterschool program at Trinity Northside Church. Our members prepare and serve dinner to approximately 30 homeless men at the Pleasant Valley Shelter twenty times a year. Annually on Blanket Sunday, a partnership project with Thrivent, we provide blankets for needy people worldwide.
Facilities Usage
Berkeley Hills is a meeting place for many nonprofit organizations such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and the Community College of Allegheny County. We also open our doors to the community as a polling place on election day.
